SEBASTIAN CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP FOR THOSE MANAGING A LOVED ONE WITH COGNITIVE DECLINE
The group will provide caregivers with support, resources, and strategies to assist in the day-to-day caregiving needs of those affected by cognitive loss. The group will meet monthly, and will discuss, with other caregivers, ideas, and creative ways to manage cognitive decline. PURPOSE: To provide participants with a safe place to share thoughts and ask questions on ways to manage evolving caregiving concerns. Where: Sebastian Yacht Club 820 Indian River Blvd, Sebastian, FL
VBMA Movement in the Moment
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachThis program was designed for our Social Respite Group for those with memory disorders in partnership with the Vero Beach Museum of Art. It utilizes music, dance, laughter, and motion to promote physical and emotional well being. Caregivers are welcome to join in and participate in the program also. This program takes place every Wednesday at our Indian River Shores location at 11:30 a.m. and every Friday at our Vero Beach location at 1:00 p.m.
Boxing for Parkinson’s
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachBoxing for Parkinson's is a non-contact class based on exercises that are adapted from the world of boxing that emphasize agility, speed, endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork, and strength. Instructed by a certified Rock Steady Boxing instructor. Boxing for Parkinson's takes place every Monday and Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Omni Multipurpose Room next door to our main office. Call 772-563-0505 to register or for more details.
Chair Yoga
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachChair Yoga is a great movement program for those with movement disorders as well as their caregivers. This program involves stretching, breathing techniques, improving balance and is a great tool to relieve stress. The program was designed especially for seniors and those with movement disorders. Every Wednesday at 3:00 pm.
