Day of Hope Caregiver Conference

The Day of Hope Conference for Caregivers of those with dementia is an annual conference hosted by the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association each spring. This 4-hour conference features expert speakers, such as Teepa Snow and Pam Brandon from Age-U-Cate, to discuss the aspects of caregiving and provide practical tools that assist with the caregiving role. This conference also allows caregivers to meet with local sponsors in the healthcare field that may help their situation. Breeda Miller. An author, speaker, trainer and playwright, Breeda Miller has used her professional experience serving clients in health care organizations, corporations, academic institutions, and non-profit communities. Apart from her education, Breeda Miller came to her awareness of the value of self-care when she cared for her mother for nearly six years, including hospice care in her home. She is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy and has a variety of certifications and training programs. A skilled storyteller, her video stories have gone viral and she has appeared on The Moth Story Hour on NPR. Her acclaimed one-woman play, Mrs. Kelly’s Journey Home provides audiences with an entertaining and engaging theatrical experience that lifts hearts and provides memorable lessons.
