This program was designed for those with movement disorders and their caregivers to improve balance and relieve stress. This program takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Balance Class
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachJoin us for a balance class specially designed for those with movement disorders. This standing and chair-style class has many benefits like: improved balance, increased muscle strength and tone, decreased risk of falling, improved endurance, and weight management. This class takes place every Thursday at 2:45 p.m.
Evening Support Group
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachThe Alzheimer & Parkinson Association hosts a Caregiver Support Group every month on the last Thursday of the month at 5:00 p.m. This group was designed for caregivers who cannot attend other support groups during the working hours of the day. This group is a safe, non- judgmental place for caregivers of those with loved ones with various forms of dementia or movement disorders to gather and support one another.

VBMA Movement in the Moment
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachThis program was designed for our Social Respite Group for those with memory disorders in partnership with the Vero Beach Museum of Art. It utilizes music, dance, laughter, and motion to promote physical and emotional well being. Caregivers are welcome to join in and participate in the program also. This program takes place every Wednesday at our Indian River Shores location at 11:30 a.m. and every Friday at our Vero Beach location at 1:00 p.m.
Music Therapy for Parkinson’s with the VNA
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachMusic Therapy for Parkinson's with the VNA is an engaging movement class targeting posture improvement and engaging muscles related to improving gait. A certified music therapist leads a group exercise that incorporates neurological music therapy, matching gait to rhythm, breathing techniques, and a series of vocal exercises. This class is in partnership with the VNA Music Therapy Department.
Caregiving 101 for those who are caring for someone with Dementia
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachCaregiving 101 for dementia was designed by the Alzheimer and Parkinson Association for caregivers of loved ones in the various stages of dementia. This class is constructed of 6 separate classes covering a variety of the different aspects of caregiving. The class reviews the basics of caregiving on subjects like activities of daily living, behaviors, nutrition, activities, communication, and more. This class comes with a booklet with information about each course and can be attended in a flexible capacity based on the needs of the caregiver.
