Land & Sea
The Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of IRC offers an offsite program that combines seated exercises with aquatic ones. Participants have mobility issues utilize this program, which is held at the Brennity of Vero Beach’s wellness center. The program begins with seated exercises and then progresses into pool exercises. The aquatic aspect of this program offers participants an easier outlet to provide exercise for those diagnosed with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, MS, or cerebellar ataxia.
Boxing for Parkinson’s
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachBoxing for Parkinson's is a non-contact class based on exercises that are adapted from the world of boxing that emphasize agility, speed, endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork, and strength. Instructed by a certified Rock Steady Boxing instructor. Boxing for Parkinson's takes place every Monday and Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Omni Multipurpose Room next door to our main office. Call 772-563-0505 to register or for more details.

Participants, who are mostly seated through the program, are guided as a silver sneakers fitness coach guides them through various exercises that incorporates laughter and music.
QiGong
Alzheimer & Parkinson Association 2300 5th Ave Suite 150, Vero BeachQiGong is an ancient Chinese form of exercise that integrates slow moving motions with breathing techniques. This program was designed for those with movement disorders and their caregivers to improve balance and relieve stress. This program takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
